What's up FattiesGoneWild; Before I bought the Accord in January 18' I was deciding between the MAX, Accord, and Camry. The Camry was ok, but, I narrowed it down to the MAX and the Accord. I bought the accord because I had a bad experience at a Nissan dealership and I felt like (at the time) that i could get more for my money out of the Accord. Ultimately i dumped the Accord because of the HUD issues, brake issues, steering issues, the ever shifting tranny, and a few other things like it just being a stressful car to drive. I owned an 08 MAX for six years and I think the VQ and the CVT just stays in your blood, LOL. The MAX is just a better car, period!. Everything about it is better.

The ride was quiet and smooth but you could just tell its a 4 banger even with a turbo. Also as you said the build quality is better in the Maxima. It felt cheap inside with the Accord. Needless to say the Maxima is still here with us.
As someone who is currently driving an Honda product (2018 Acura MDX) I agree with this. Honda/Acura 9spd/10spd transmission's are AWFUL. MDX always jerks when transmission is shifting from 1 to 2 and 3 with poor acceleration. Sometimes while driving in the city, the transmission shifts between 4-5 all the time. Even on the highway, there is this awful lag when you try to pass someone. I do not know if all those were addressed with the new 10 speed transmissions Honda is putting into Accord, Pilot and several Acura products.

I never had any transmission issues while driving the Maxima. Other than the annoying CVT drone like sound, Maxima was always smooth and ample power while passing on highway.
