An odd development...

So My 17 Max SR has 35,500 miles on it. Ive decided I like it enough to keep a few more years so I recently decided to purchase the 5 year 100k mile Preferred Gold Plus ESV plan.
I got a great deal following a link on this page from Jim Bone Nissan in Santa Rosa. In order to put the warranty into place, I nedded to go to my local dealer and pay $140 for an inspection.
Yesterday, I dropped it off. 6 hours later the dealer calls... "Have you had any drievability issues?" I reply that for the most part no but the trans does get a little hyperactive occasionally on downshifts. They say, "we see a code stored, P17F1, do we have your permission to diagnose?" I reply yes.
This morning he calls back and says they arent positive yet but that Nissan may want to replace the CVT!!! Holy smokes! Odd, since I dont notice anything incredibly abnormal.
Ill keep yall posted!!

Dealer called back. They are replacing the Valve Body (or the CVT eqivalent of a valve body).

I'm curious on your warranty. What was the link to getting it?

Google "Jim Bone Nissan Extended Warranty"

You mentioned that you were experiencing issues when downshifting, I am guess you are manually shifting?

What type of behavior did you experience?

Not shifting manually. It literally felt like it was a manual trans when you drop a a couple gears really quickly. You could feel the engine breaking, and I have that turned off in the menu options.

They just called and said it was done. Picking it up after work. They also replaced the center console armrest due to there being a crack in the vinyl. Covered under warranty.

To the other fellow asking for a link: http://nissansrextendedservicecontracts.com/
