Passenger Door Rattling

My 2017 Maxima at speeds over 60/70 mph when the wind is coming sideways I get this annoying rattling/popping noise like something is loose outside and around passenger door area. Anybody having this issue.

Yep. 2017 SL did this. I said, "did" this. My wife could here from here passenger side but I could not. The other day I was poking around the bottom of that door just after an oil change on my garage lift. I pushed on a section of the bottom valance. This is the rather wide trim piece just under the door. The bottom of this piece is held on with black plastic push pins that go through the plastic trim and lock into the metal frame. As I pushed up on the bottom of one particular section I heard a pop, like it was not seated against the frame. What happened was the plastic push pin was not pushed in all the way in. To correct I just pushed on the end of the pin and it snapped everything together nice and tight. The last time my wife and I were driving around hittin pot holes, my wife asked me what I did to stop the noise. Voila!

Is your car equipped with the optional chrome-trimmed side rocker panel moldings?

Yes I have the chrome side rocker panels factory installed and I just checked the plastic plugs under the body and everything looks good.

Mine too were doing this but it was because it got jack-assed on a service lift cracking and breaking the front part of the chrome rockers due to not having the lift arms extended to clear them. Fortunately, the missing parts are underneath so it is not an eyesore. I used double-sided tape and moulding adhesive to keep the flapping noise from occurring.

My 17 SR does the very same thing... 39K miles. Getting worse.

I had the same issue with my 2015 Altima and my 2017 Maxima. The solution? i went under the car and found that their was a plastic hook type of cover that was coming off, the issue was these PUSH FENDER RIVETS (BLACK) they are all over the car holding panels etc, etc. The rivet fell off and is a issue with these cars. fortunately it's a easy fix by taking out one from the trunk and popping it in or just ordering some on amazon, NYLON BUMPER 10MM PUSH FENDER FLARE FASTENER RIVET CLIPS. $6 FOR 40 PCS
