Snow tires

Not sure if there is a thread for this topic. I am about to go from driving 2 miles each way to work to 50 miles each way to work. With winter approaching, and the forecast calling for a lot of snow in New England this year, I am curious as to recommendations for the best snow tires for my '18 Platinum.

Living in a snow belt in Canada good winters are a must. Am super happy with the Nokian Hakkapeliitta R2 winters I have run on this and the previous generation Maxima.

North of Boston is not a snow belt. Michelin X-Ice 3 and the same size as the OEM all seasons. Great in snow and ice, but acts like a regular tire when the roads are clear.

Nokian, Michelin X-Ice or Bridgestone Blizzaks are all great choices.

I just put a set of Continental WinterContact SI on my 2016 Platinum. I'll let you know how they work out. Overall very positive reviews, comparable to but less expensive than Michelin X-Ice XI3s and Blizaak WS80s.

We may not be a true snow belt, but we do get our fair share of snow.

2015 - Boston breaks it's own record with more than 108" of snow

Some of the snow piles didn't completely melt until July.

Any further comments? Read reviews of the Michelin X-13 which were not favorable. Blizzaks got better reviews but are more expensive.

Any snow tires you buy will be a world of difference over OEM All Seasons. I doubt you can go wrong. I would go for best deal.

Lived on the outskirts of Minneapolis and never did get any snow tires. Did have a Bronco II for awhile, I must say 4 wheel drive in slippery conditions is amazing. but my 1hr commute to work across Minneapolis was with a front wheel drive Accord with no snow tires.
