Stillen Air Intake P0101 MAF Sensor fix

Hey guys and gals,
I'm new to the site and could use some help finding a thred if there's one or some advise. I installed the Stillen Air Intake on my 2016SL. 2 weeks later the Service Engine light came on. It's been to the dealer and although they cleared it, it's back again. The dealer said it would not cause any damage to the engine because it's the Mass Air flow sensor. He said drive it and sometimes the car will relearn, but nothing after 1000k additional miles.
Any links or advise would be appreciated. Thanks

Are you using the oiled filter? Oil must have gotten in your maf. That a common issue with oiled filter.

i've had that code ever since i installed mine 25k+ miles or so ago, but i've never had the check engine light come on because of it, if i didnt have a scanner i would never know anyways. and i used a dry filter for the first 20k miles.. the code was present from day 1

It's the oiled filter. I called Stillen and they told me they have not had any similar issues reported by others. I find that difficult to believe that I'm the only 1. I've used the MAF spray, cleaned the filter and every relearn or reset option I can find . I see other year maxima had the same issues but they seem to have been resolved by a tsb at the dealer.

Maybe you are looking in the wrong place. Your MAF could be bad and no amount of cleaning will help. You could have an intake manifold vacuum leak. The catalytic converter could be clogged and the MAF wiring could have a short. All of these will display the code.

The only code i get is the P0101 Mass Air Flow. I agree it could be any of the ones you listed. I purchased this maxima 6 months ago with 11k miles. It is certified pre owned(like that means something) and I have 100k bumper to bumper coverage. If the dealer detected any of those, they would have fixed it, since they will get paid for warranty work. The dealer cleared it but it's back. Someone at work told me his can be cleared but it always returns. I can't find another thread on the Gen 8 Forums about this topic either.

Clearing the code is not going to correct the initial problem why the SEL comes on. I would take that Stillen air intake off and go back to stock and make sure every one of your vacuum lines other hoses are tight. If this doesn't correct the problem then take the car to a different dealership. The first one you took it to probably didn't want to do any work on it because of the Stillen mod. FWIW the best air intake for your car is the one that was engineered for it and came with it.
