2017 Maxima Navigation Issues
I have a 2017 Platinum and the Navigation works fine except for 1 major issue - when you enter a destination, it always computes the ETA wrong. For example, I live in NM, and from my house to the Albuquerque International Sunport, it's right at 3 hours. If I enter it as the destination, it comes up with 4+ hours, and I've checked the route to make sure it's using the quickest, etc. On a recent trip back to Missouri, all the routes were 25-40% longer than when you put them in google maps, waze, etc. Furthermore, it doesn't correct it as you go except it just counts down and you end up at 0 when you arrive. It's very frustrating. Anyone have this problem??

Waze and Google maps has live feed... they have invested heavily into this... I’m pretty sure google’s quantum computer is mapping out the results and that’s why ETA dead precise. |
I've found similar. But for me, NAV underestimates ETA and gives a very "hopeful" answer that is often 10 minutes less than reality. Very frustrating.
Often I run both NAV (with XM) and GoogleMaps (using CarPlay) at the same time to compare. If I really want to know... I ignore NAV. |
The new (2019) one has a far better traffic solution.
SirusXM Traffic (former XM NavTraffic) sucks. (and the OLDER Nissan system - on our 2015 Pathfinder - was far better when I tweaked the driving speeds. It was literally within 5 minutes on a six hour [!!] trip) |

Same here. Navi works as it should. You should check the settings to be sure you don't have routing preferences that exclude toll ways etc.

compyelc4, nice of you to say, thank you. We're here to help each other in this forum!

Add my thanks too... I'm still wading through the manual and haven't yet got to those pages. The manual is VERY detailed. I'll have to check those settings!
I'm new to this Nissan, Maxima, and this forum... and they're GREAT! |
Guys, fyi, I got the Navigation Manual I posted above at the following link, where any Nissan manual can be accessed online: https://owners.nissanusa.com/nowners...18_Int&dtm_em=
