This is 2017 Maxima SL

Rocker Panel? Rocker Guard? Rocker molding?

Seems like it's gonna cost me 1000$ if I go to a repair shop

Has anyone replaced this by him/herself before?

little bit devasted if I'm being honest

I feel your pain. I did that to my 2007 Vette last summer. Parking lot parking median curb. That $1000 seems about right, for a body shop.

The pain still persists :(
I'm thinking of putting EZ tape that's used to cover sideskirt. Reckon, it will hide the broken part at least

You will never be happy.

This is about 2 years old, but will give you a ball park and part numbers. I've had to replace rockers 3 times because tire shops didn't pay attention and cracked/bent them putting the car up on the lift. Fortunately I noticed it right away and was able to get the shops to pay.

My Maxima has the optional chrome spear rocker trim extensions which are even worse. I made up a small placard I put on the dash every service visit which asks the tech to use the lift extensions for the lift arms to avoid a bad day for all concerned.

is this in USD? labour cost per hour seems cheap but it took them 7.4 hrs to do it

Yep, USD. It was a small independent shop that I had used in the past. This was a couple years ago as well. But at least you have an idea from a parts and effort standpoint.
