BBK caliper clearing problem using oem 17's

Ok I'm having a problem hopefully somebody has a solution to. I have newer maxima oem 17's the flat 7 spoke ones. BBK using 13" rotors and J30 calipers. The wheel weights hit the caliper just a little bit so I grinded them down and everything was great except the wheels were out of balance about 90 MPH. So I took them in today to get balanced and asked if they could move the wheel weights in toward the center of the wheel to clear the caliper which they did. Now the car shakes bad at 60+. I rotated wheels hoping it was only one nope still has problem. My mechanic friend says putting them in the center of the wheel is not advised. What are my options here I have to drive from Maryland to Vermont tomorrow and need this fixed in the morning. One thought was to have them put the weights back where they were and use the grinder to gring them down again and rebalance them again, or take the wheel weights and grind them in half first i dunno it's late and need help. Thanks

bah thats a problem. can you have them put the weights on the outter lip of the rim towards engine? im having a hard time picturing that the wheel wall is so close to the caliper..... if all fails, maybe get some spacers to move the wheels out a bit?

it uses the stick on wheel weights that sit right behind the spokes which is hitting the out edge farthest away from the engine. It just barely rubs just enough to take the paint off of the caliper. I had them move it in on the wheel closer to the engine but my buddy said your not suppose to do it that way that it might not balance out right cause it confuses the machine.

Grind a littler off the caliper

went back to the tire shop and apparently they can put them in the center of the wheel but the guy who did it yesterday didn't push that button on the balancing machine so now things are good too bad the front tire was off 1.5 oz.
