VQ30 liner thickness?

Anybody know what the cylinder liner thickness is in the VQ30, and how much can be safely removed?

Thanks!

Just get Darton M.I.D. sleeves and call it a day.

OEM oversize pistons go upto 93.179 - 93.209mm (3.6685 - 3.6696in) with a piston/wall clearance of 0.010 - 0.032mm (0.0004 - 0.0013in), however I doubt that helps.

I'm wondering if the liners could be bored to accept the VQ35 pistons. I'm sure this has been answered in some thread, but I can't find it.

Pretty sure it couldn't looking at the open deck block design, however it could by machining the block to accept VQ35 Darton sleeves.;)

Do I sense a recurring theme, here?

If you're going to go through the hassle/expense of boring the VQ30 block, you might as well do it all the way or it's a waste of time/money over just finding a FWD VQ35 block.;)

Yeah just get a VQ35. I heard someone got a local pickup price of 650$ for a full motor. Very cheap.

Nissan uses 1mm thick iron sleeves in their aluminum engines. That really leaves enough room to bore them+0.5mm - 1.0mm. Going to 1mm and leaving the sleeve 0.5mm thick is already pushing safe limits. And you can't machine VQ30 bores to accept VQ35 pistons, they're physically smaller in diamter than VQ35 bores.

Darton MID sleeves it is Stephen.

And there you have it. Thanks!
