will my tranny hold in a dek swap...

Well i have a 4th gen 97 max with a auto tranny, and a stage 2 VB, i also have the JWT ECU. Now i am looking to do the dek swap since it is basically a "Direct Drop in" I believe im not to sure. I have a bunch of mechanic buddies that are going to do it. What do i need for the swap besides the engine. What will i have to change and so forth if some one could help me out i would appreciate it.

00VI is not a bolt-on a la MEVI. It will require a little to a lot of fab work depending on your setup. There are many different ways to do this and you'll need to determine which setup is right for you. There are many many threads on the subject and you have the search capability. You'll find that most, if not all, of your questions are already answered ad nauseum.

like i said i dont know much is there a write up for it ? On exactly what i need to buy. Im more concerned that if my tranny will hold, and my jwt ecu will work. Will the swap require the harness from the 2000+ engine or do i use my original. Because my original needs to be replaced. Also i have a cattman y pipe. Will that have to be replaced with a 2001 y pipe ? I really need some information because im going to start buying everything i need shortly.

i just finish the 2001 engine in my 97 swap. Need to get 6 2001 injector clips, other wise nothing much to change, just gotta run vaccum lines. exhaust headers i use the 2001 rear and 97 front, just block the oxygen sensor with a bolt. I didnt use the 97 rear exhaust cuz i didnt know how the egr would work/fit. I heard you can use it:::: here is agood page

is there a faq or how to on this swap. I just want to make sure i dont miss anything. I need to know if the 2001 harness is the same as the 4th gen. Because mine is ripped and i want to replace it sine the 01 engine comes with the harness.

hmmmm im not sure, there are different sensors. Thats sucks, just have to custom the injectors, other wise its just custom work. Its not that hard, also make sure that the grounds are not the valve cover which is a bad ground, i just ran a wire from the negative battery to the grounds good luck. Hit me up with anything you get lost on. PM style
