I scored free delivery as well.. If you buy from a parts business like LKQ, chances are they make trips to local car dealers on a weekly basis. The way I got free shipping on mine was, that they told me it would be no charge if I picked it up at the local car dealer, which they normally stop at anyways.

It is not really local. It was a Knoxville, TN company, and they advertised free delivery to Chattanooga and Nashville. That is a pretty wide delivery area.

bottom end is not spectacular, but its hard to compare to my 3.0. I also have no vtc's like you, I have no variable intake to build torque down low, and the cams lose some low end. Those 3 things together add up. I think you have an auto though right? I would never do cams on an auto without a big stall torque converter, you low end is hurting badly.

You're the guy with the cammed Altima, right? To help your monster launch, try Andre at Edge Converters: http://www.edgeracingconverters.com/

I've got a 3000-stall Edge in my '99 and it feels good - but still waiting on tracks to open here in the Midwest.

you really can describe this maxima as a beast, heck 96sleeper your gotta change your name now ? sleeper status has left the building, anyone who hears this car is going to flip out !

if you can get some track videos or even a flyby down a backroad, would make for a fantastic video. i priced a vq35de over here in NZ the other day and wanted to puke when i was quoted 5 grand !

Car sounds good! Will be waiting on 1/4 mile times. Nobody with a 3.5 swap has run to full potential yet.

And yeah, you're no sleeper anymore...

It's still a sleeper. With the idle raised up to 900 rpm and the cutout closed, no one could tell the difference, unless they see the big grin on my face.

True... guess I was thinking at the track with the cutout open.

Hey here's a question... the QTP cutout, I assume it's 2-1/2" right,.. is the dump side of the "y" 2-1/2 inches as well? The one Summit sells is actually bigger on the dump side.. more like 2-7/8"

It's all 2.5 inch. It was the perfect size for my old 3.0 engine, since I lost no torque (actually gained) and gained 6whp over a straight thru exhaust. Just goes to show backpressure is not what you want, exhaust stream velocity is what you want.

"Back pressure" is a misnomer. It's all about velocity. What was your TQ gain?

Thanks for the info... I'm trying to decide between the QTP and the Summit w/ McCord PP. Both are listed as being 2.5" but the Summit is actually a 2.5" main pipe with the dump side of the "y" being larger, like almost 3". I'm wondering if it'll make any difference using the larger Summit (as compared to the QTP) on my 3.0 pushing about 230hp or so...

Thanks but I was asking specifically about the diameter on the dump side of the "y" on his cut-out, and assuming it was the 2.5" one he got... as I said the Summit is different.

2 ft-lbs peak, but area under the curve was better all around.

Cool that's good to know... can always use more area.

Any opinion on which one I should get? Do you think the almost 3" over the 2.5 would make any significant velocity difference at that power level, either + or -?

Do you really think that a couple inches of 2.5" vs. 2 7/8" end pipe will make a difference?

IMO, if the pre-piping is 2.5", going to a larger pipe for the "y" dump leg wouldn't gain anything over the 2.5".

Let me know what you choose though, since I'll be deciding which to go with soon.

Well it's a longer piece on the Summit, more than a couple inches... but no I'm just being ****. lol. It probably won't matter.

Most likely I'll go Summit + McCord since it's less $. I still have to find out if the dia on the McCord plate will match the larger Summit tube though.

I guess there's no way around it now, you'll HAVE to shift into 4th!
