I have the ebay electric impact. It sucks. Won't even loosen lug nuts. Worst 30 bucks I ever spent.

For a cordless 1/2" drive impact, I would encourage most consumers to get a Dewalt. But I think even Pep Boys has some decent cheap ones.

All the accessories are off, so that should shave pounds off the engine to where i can adjust it on the jack without too much trouble. It's gonna be a ***** to put back in the car. Oh well.

thats how i did its alot hard than it seems ur gonna need to people to lower the engine and remove the rear wheels and use the sisscor jack.remove the tranny first and get a rope

edit:i will say this its alot easier and simple, fun, less painful, easier on the mind and everything if you buy a cherry picker

Dewalt and milwaukee have the higherst rated cordless impacts that I know of. Dewalt has a 300 ft-lb, milwaukee has a 325 ft-lb one. I buy alot of these for work, the best size/weight/durability ratio impacts I have found are the new hitachi series. A WR14DMR is a 14.4 volt, weighs 4 lbs, and does 150 ft-lbs. It is a perfect impact for assembly jobs since it is so small. The big dewalt is killer for the bigger jobs though.

This is the one I have

http://buy1.snapon.com/catalog/item....re&dir=catalog

I think the 210 rating on the Snap On is more realistic than the Dewalt and Milwaukee ratings.

I was just about to call you to see what a good one was, since I'm in need of one to make my life easier. Thanks Matt.

hopefully my ebay inpact wrench won't explode on me, and actually get my axle nut loose (which broke 2 of my craftsman 1/2 inch wrenches)

You expect some cheap Ebay impact to remove an axle nut?

Is it also cordless?

My Snap On cordless impact won't even do that.

i'm being unrealistically optimistic.

It's corded. I got it for 35 bucks shipped.

All I need it to do is just loosen it enough so i don't break ratchets and breaker bars trying to take it off. I hate maxima axle nuts.

Snap-On CT3850 > all others.

Ain't seen a bolt it can't take off yet, and yes that means axle nuts...
