Another 3.5 swap complete in South Florida

Upon initial startup, it wouldn't start. I bumped up the fuel pressure and adjusted the idle and it fired right up. I just got to drive the car around last night. The only problems I've encountered so far is an exhaust leak (front header gasket, I assume) and the a/c-alternator belt decided that it was going to hop off, but that was my fault. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that I'm the first person to install a 6th gen (04) motor on a 4th gen. Once I get the minor bugs worked out, and get an alignment, I'll be heading to the track. Pics to come once I get the wiring situated properly.

EDIT: Here are the pics...

Also, I think Tilley has used the 04 engine in one of his swaps.

You haven't watched the New Chappelle epps?

BTW, you gonna tune this bad boy or you gonna be untuned like 99% of the swaps?

No it's going to be tuned by the EU. I need to do research first, and figure out how they work, learn how to tune, etc. I've never tuned a car before so it's going to be all new to me. I'm expecting to get the EU in the next few months.

Not in my book. Add a VAFCII to it and then I will approve.

When the time comes feel free to PM me. I can help you with both (EU and tuning). Also, if you want a good overview that's not too advanced, check this book out: http://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/0760...lance&n=916520

It's unfortunate but true; most of these swaps have left a lot on the table IMHO.

It's been hard for me to watch all the 3.5 swaps going on and not be able to do my own yet. Hopefully next spring, that's the plan at this point.

Yeah it's been WAY too hot here for 3 or 4 weeks now with temps around 90 and high humidity too... haven't been able to run better than 13.2's. And now the car's down while I wait for a shifter support rod to get here.

good job buddy. You'll learn that tuning is your best friend. My worst enemy, however, is my own self-depleting bank account.

Nice swap, you're so lucky. I'm having problems with my swap right now. Hoping to work the bugs out soon, or else, i'll burn this car and send it to hel*.
