ECU & Headers

I've read the other threads on ecu's. But I'm thinking of using TS next month for my 03. I think they adjust the afr to 12.0 or 12.5. Just wondering if I were to get headers installed in the spring, would I need to also get a safc to be properly tuned? I'm just trying to avoid wasting money on unnecessary mods. Has anyone else done the ecu and headers on the 5.5g w/o issues? Thanks,
Bruce

u dont have to u should still be safe.....y not go EU ....u can do it all for the price of an SAFC and TS ECU....once the firmware for the vq35 is realeased it will be a powerful piggy back

i did the ts flash and i think is worth it. also have the safc2 and wideband to fine tune when i'm using nitrous and stuff like that. the best u can do is , go to a dyno shop, get 3 passes and send ur ecu with the dyno graph. that way they will get the right a/f for your car.

The features for the VQ35 ECU have been operation since the EU was originally released.

the features have been but the firmware was still wrong...either way its still better and wiser to spend on EU than TS ECU and SAFC2 considering the EU can advance/retard timing...tune for fuel....moniter everything....and raise rev limit and it all adjustable so it can be fine tuned....

EDIT: Nismology is right VQ35 features are right I keep thinking VQ30

If you really want a reflash, just get a TS L-spec which has no AF. Then adjust AF using a piggyback like the SAFC-II, VAFC-II, EB, EU, etc for more versatility. AFAIK, people have typically gotten the best results in the range of 12.5:1 - 13.5:1.
