Our Spec V HR/DE project runs 12.20's @ 110+mph!!

http://www.fi-r.net/images2/VQSwapFi...yTrackRuns.wmv

We consistently ran in the low 12.40 range all night with mid 1.8 60ft times..
After a cool down, and suspension/air pressure tweak.. I clicked off a 12.29 pass.. just shy of 111mph. I cut a 1.72 60ft on 24.5" x 8" MT ET Drags.. my best 60ft of the evening.

This car weighs about 2950 with me in it.. Do the math.. :) We're close to, if not over 300whp. Hopefully, we'll get a spot on the dyno soon to confirm. :)

DrunkieTheBear Nov 27, 2008 02:01 PM

any video of this baby in action at the track?

EnervinE Nov 27, 2008 05:18 PM

Oh man, that was a great video. That's wicked seeing the tach spin to 8k like that.

Unless I'm mistaken, you have plans for boost, correct? Are you sticking with the HR pistons or are they just for the N/A phase?

TurboS13Hatch Nov 27, 2008 06:44 PM

Yup.. 8K with C8 cams and JWT springs.. Wait till we fab up the short runner sheet metal intake manifold with direct port.. ;)

You should run a 3" intake stack setup on that. What you got for an exhaust setup? 3" exhaust responds well with the 3.5s ;)

Man that thing revs fast through the gears you did awesome job with the build man.

t6378tp Nov 27, 2008 09:01 PM

great job with the build and comedy show

whats the deal with the tow truck?

TurboS13Hatch Nov 28, 2008 01:18 PM

That was a joke.. My buddy has a towing company, and we were goofing off before heading to the track.

Its good to see you guys showing what this motor can do. The 3.5 is still a relatively young engine and its good to see it being pushed so far so fast. Cant wait to see how the power curve looks on paper all the way up to 8k.

More geo metro please...

KRRZ350 Nov 29, 2008 09:21 AM

speachless.

ghostmax301 Nov 29, 2008 09:41 AM

wooooow
<---- In for dynosheet to see what this power curve looks like between 5500-8000.
In your opinion, does it feel likes it makes more and more power until 8000?

TurboS13Hatch Nov 29, 2008 11:37 AM

It's definitely making power in that range, but you can tell that the stock intake manifold is a BIG limiting factor. I'm going to dyno the car next month, when it comes back for a sheet metal manifold/nitrous. I'll do a before/after dyno with the stock manifold, a SSIM, and then the sheet metal manifold. The cool dyno run will be with a 200 shot, progressive controlled with C16.

TurboS13Hatch Dec 7, 2008 12:25 AM

He was actually pretty pissed, for some reason.. He tried to come flying up behind me on the return road at the end of the track. Then, was staring me down in the pits.. At one point, I set my tools down, and just looked at him until he decided that it was best to look/walk away. :) Idiot..

Travis
