No he didn't, at least not yet....
Car was dropped off to Matt yesterday. The mad scientist is gonna tear apart the timing chain cover, and realign the timing chain correctly for the teeth I skipped. At least he's going to verify that this is the issue first. Then he's gonna have to pull apart the intake manifold and replace the coils and plugs I fried. Ask any racer, any real racer.....whether it's 1 code or 5 codes, a code is a code and needs to be fixed before tuning can commence.

Used to be so easy to tune cars, just play with the timing curve and carburetor jetting, adjust one thing at a time until you get your highest trap speed.
All I had to do when I built a really stout .030 over 350 for my Chevelle was to bump the primary jetting up 2 jets and drill 1/8" holes in the primary throttle plates to get more air flow at idle (244 duration at .050 lift, .501 lift and 106 degree centerline). I think I changed the rear accelerator pump squirter too (Holley double pumper).
Now with all the sensors and computers, it is a real pain when you get into a serious n/a build like this one. Hopefully once you get the timing issue taken care of you will start seeing the true potential of your build. If the timing chain didn't jump, look real close at the IVT solenoids. Doesn't take much dirt in them to cause problems.

Confirmed that the timing chain skipped teeth. We suspect that on initial startup, the timing chain tensioner didn't have any oil pressure behind it, and cause the chain to be loose. We have a feeling this is the root cause of my tuning problems. I surely hope so, that's all I can say.

We turned the crank by hand after assembly, but to my understanding, it is something that you just hope gets enough pressure to put tension on the chain as it starts. Matt says that it should be ok this time around.

Really? None of the tracks we've been to up here have had any code unless you run faster then xx.xx times. (track specific) I'm sure at that point you'll not only need a helmet but proper clothing as well.

I had very high hopes to go this route, but the development at the moment is just not there. It's more complicated then one would think, and the thought of running 2 ecu's is not that appealing to me. So until there is a much simpler fix as in someone making this work, then I will retain the Utec for now. Once I get this thing back on the road, I'm hoping that it will be somewhat of a beast anyway.
Have not checked the compression. Will check it when it all gets put back together. We don't suspect that anything was damaged by being off 1 tooth.
Just a slight update. The chain has been aligned properly, and the proper procedures to get the tension pressurized has been completed. The timing chain covers will be cleaned and installed back on tomorrow. Should be cranking it back up soon here.
