The different sealants used on the block, he found 3x (well at least in attempts of re-assembly) different marks/leftover sealant.

And no nothing aftermarket found Just OEM

That's what I'm terrified of, every time I fix something on the white car something breaks, even changing wheels were a pain. I didn't fool with it tonight, just sprayed PB blaster everywhere, and I'm sayin my prayers that all the bolts come out with nothing snapping or breaking.

OAN, got a Nismo Z32 clutch for da low low, it's nothing special but it's something cool to say , at least I will be able to punch it in 3rd gear now

I really wish I had enough money to buy up 6mt swap parts.... Gahh perfect time to do it..... Or I should drop the 3.0 in the red car... hrmm.... I do miss riding on my BC coilovers, these AGXs are harsh at times....

So while pinching pennies this is what I scrounged up... New VC Gasket + those round gasket thingies, new water pump, new thermo, new radiator, nismo clutch, my old exedy PP from the red car's 5mt days, the like new 5mt axles I had on the red car outta storage, fuel filter anddddd uhmm..... that's it.... all new fluids and what not ready to go, so this better go smoov tomoro...

Did that, went not so bad, I broke my condensor like a n00b but meh, overall things went swimmingly, I have to return A LOT of things because that motor has A LOT of brand new parts on it.

So.... Lets aim for 2 weeks from now on getting a motor in the red car at least.

After 12 pages of B.S.... Guess what?

All of these plans have been dropped.

The motor I brought is fcuked, bent valve, saw it today checking timing.

Back to the drawing board.

The way things sit now... I may just go straight to the standalone game, the red car is obviously not going to be running for a very long time.

Consider this thread failed XD

It's not only a bent valve, it appears water has been sitting in the cylinders too, i would personally like my money back, but I know that's not going to happen, most likely they are going to give me another 3.5L but I do not know what to do w/ it now, I just want to cam it, and run a standalone to get it running quickly and not fool w/ the hybrid crap any more.

So... Emerald?

That really sucks....sorry man. Ive almost got the kinks worked out with the full swap harness if you are interested in swapping over toa 5.5 ECU. (Im actually making two harness)

Then in theory you could drop in an 09 vq35 and a haltech and have the first 4.7 gen

I'm still waiting on to see if a stock 09 Maxima Motor > Cammed 09 Altima Motor because they would cost the same.....

Also I will not be running any stock ECU crap in my car, it's reg'd in KS for a reason meow, not only because it's cheaper, but no emissions req's.

This emerald... under 1k... standalone.... I like....

EVT might just do that too! it was 5 hp at 9 degrees advancement, stock haltech advancement is 15. and idk what the limit is.

So im deff retracting my statement of i would do altima with cams, EVT FTW when its working and tunable that is.

Emerald K6

Engine speed triggers
3 inputs, each configurable for Inductive or Digital sensors, crank, cam or distributor. User selectable crank trigger patterns.

That one seems to be the best/most feature rich, not really sure.

But its just gonna run a cank sensor and 2 cam sensors.

If you have EVT you need crank, and 4 cam sensors.

Sorry, I dont quite follow this post. (mostly because I dont know squat about stand alone systems). Are you saying that the Emerald K6 could control EVT on a 09 maxima just like your Haltech?

Its sad...I havent even finished swapping my car over to Full swap 3.5 and Im already thinking about the "next" engine lol

Sorry for thread jacking this.... lol, I figured we were at 12 pages and it died so I might as well ask the question.

im saying the opposite of that.

The k6 cant use all 4 cam sensors, so you would not know the position of the exhaust cams.

Thats why i like the 350z haltech, i know the position of all 4 cams. and with EVT being for top end power IMO its very important to know where that cam is at.

Great. That makes total since. Thanks Surra. If you have a chance, Im trying to figure out some real basic wiring identification on the thread I started (both 4th gen and 5.5 gen). If you get a chance would you mind checking out the thread I started on the different plugs needed for a full swap. If you know any of that info off hand I would appreciate the help. Im going to work on identifying the 5.5 gen plug wires so I know what each wire does instead of just where it has to go according to Eng92's chart.

I already know what that's like, and this would be with just one car. Two engines. 4 days of no car.

Let this be your motto good sir aackshun. I believe in you! hahaha!

P.S. Not trying to spam up your build thread, but I've been getting into the game lately of getting ready to swap out my old 3.0 for the 3.5 and I'll admit, I'm pretty anxious to view your outcome with your setup :sofa:
