Let me start by stating my goal and current mods.

Trying to break into the 13 second range while keeping full interior and staying NA without nitrous. I know this is possible but not sure the best route to go.

I have an 02 GLE 4AT with the current mods (some of which are not installed yet). Apexi pop charger on Maf tube for intake, SunAuto voltage stabilizer with a big three and 5 point earthing system, gutted pre cats, magnaflow main cat, SRS catback, +2* timing, (the following are sitting in my shed waiting to go on) NWP 5pc spacers and bop, new NGK iridium plugs, and a Transgo HD2.

My current runs are between 14.6-14.3. Staying conservative, the last three my help my times by maybe 2-3 tenths I'm guessing.

What is next here. Not sure headers will give much gains over my current setup. I would do a ZEX Safe Shot kit but the closest refill place to me is about 2hrs. away. Should I be looking towards upgrading my injectors and fuel rail? Is it SAFC time? I'm really at a loss on where to go from here.

I am asking this question on the engine modification side, so let's just keep it there. I did not forget about things like lightweight wheels with slicks, poly mounts, torque brace... just need to know where to go with engine performance. Thanks in advance

Nevermind, think I found my answer when I clicked "New Posts." http://forums.maxima.org/1-4-1-8-mil...8-99-95-a.html

Guess those NWP mods and TransGo kit will give me more than I'm projecting they will. But, I will have about $1000 to dump into the car after coilovers since I got this $42/hr summer school gig. Still open for suggestions on my original post.

I'd say headers, bbmaf and a tune.

Been going back and forth about OBX headers since my pre cats are already gutted and I have the high flow cat. Gains from my current setup to headers worth it? I agree that I should have done that out of the gate instead of wasting the 5 hours on gutting and sims.

I was looking into a 3.5" Maf and a safc2, funny you said that. Need to find someone around my area to install the safc and do a basic tune before I pull the trigger. Lower Delaware is like a black hole for performance shops.

I would say yes. I installed a set on a 5.5 gen a year or two back and the oem ypipe diameter had to be under 2" in diameter, the wideband o2 bung wasn't much smaller than the pipe itself. That sucker was tiny and heavy. The stock setup weighed 50-60lbs and the obxs were only 19lbs.

I'd get a wideband o2 sensor as well. Check out the regional forums, there may be someone there that can help you out or point you in the right direction.

Thanks man. Didn't realize the weight difference, that may be enough for me to pull the trigger.

I've been digging around and think I've narrowed it down. It's just plain stupid for me to not do the OBX's while I'll have the intake manifold off for plugs and spacers anyway. Plus my 02's are already simmed. Also looking at the Zeitronix ZT-3 along with the SAFC-2. Is this a good combo? I'm kind of stupid with computerized engine management stuff. I've always worked with manual regulators on cars in the past (fuel pressure, boost controller, etc...). I'm also reading that there is no point in upgrading injectors or fuel rails unless I'm boosting, which I don't plan to.

FWIW...I'm running a 4" intake/maf setup (and pretty much all other NA bolt-ons, sans bottom end) and was hitting 92% duty cycle on my Z33 injectors, which are ~335cc flow on a 5.5gen. Stock injectors would have been maxed out, they're ~315cc.

So depending on how bolt-on crazy you go, you'll most likely need larger injectors. You don't want to lean out going WOT, fuel is your friend.
Fuel rail can stay stock till FI though.

Thanks for the info. Are there any good aftermarket or should I just stay OEM? I don't recall the brand, but saw some green ones on ebay. You know what? I'm becoming to "that guy" on here. Let me search around a little. Thanks again.

Lol no problem you aren't that guy yet.

I had those green injectors off of eBay... Called TLF. I don't think anything was wrong with them but I sold them before installing after I found a good deal on some RC 440s. The TLF injectors from eBay are re-drilled Hyundai injectors, fwiw. I'm just more of a brand name guy so the RCs sounded more trustworthy.

If you can't get 440s right now I'd suggest getting z33s for around 60. Direct fit and flow a little better than OEM.

Definitely adding injectors to the list, which is growing exponentially now. I was blessed with the long session summer school today, so that's 7 weeks instead of the 4 I was thinking. Caaachingggg!

I've got SAFCII, ZT-3, 4" MAF, TSFspec, 440's, Headers, 3" catback & testpipe, NWP spacers, SSIM, ETL, PUR mounts, Stage II VB and I like it.

Used to have a 3.5" intake and 335's (Z33's) and it was fine.

...cause you were only pushing 250 to the wheels.

I made 257 with a 3" intake, strangely enough.

Thanks for the info.

Found a place to do the tune about 2 hours away, might attempt the safc install myself. I'll start piecing together everything and should be all setup by the end of summer.

I would suggest you do the SAFC adjustments yourself. Most shops don't grasp what's best for our cars. It's easy.
