Keep in mind that with cams you should check the clearance on all the base circles. Depending on what you ens up with this may require clearancing what you have or buy some new buckets to do so.
^What he said. Although you can use 3.5 cams you will just have to use the adapters or drill the cams. I would suggest drilling them and getting longer dowel pins.

A graph and details would actually add value to this thread.

I see many many many 5.5gen HR swaps...

But I have yet to see a proper 3.0timing HR build with supporting mods and proper tuning.

In the past three years of the 3.0 hr builds there's been 0 progress, nobody still seems to know what the optimal HR manifold VIAS switchover RPM, or is it better to gut the manifold = simple engine efficiency steps needed to determine power delivery and peak power.

Just seems like there's still a lot of unfinished work left to do, then just making it 'fit and run'

from what I recall the highest HP 3.0timing 3.5DE was 272whp done over 10 years ago with 'old tech'
Maybe tying a RPM switch for a RPM activated VIAS and the TPS WOT switch to activate the VIAS would work?

Been awhile but thought I'd post an update. Been playing around with 4" intake (when I'm not playing with my new son..hence the lag in updates). As you can see...just a 4" intake (with a Lightning MAF) didn't really do much compared to the 3.25" intake. Then I "cleaned up" the runners on the Altima UIM (there are some "ledges" inside the runners that need to be removed)....and voila. Pretty good gains across the board. Makes me wonder what I'd see with the 3.25" back on.

Good stuff man. Have you thought about taking it another step and chopping out the shelf in the plenum?

Yes, basically SSIM'ing it. There was a post floating around from FB, let me see if I can dig it up. Basically it was saying yes there are gains only if fully bolted/tuned. But this was on 3.5 timing, not 3.0 so YMMV.
Personally I'd want to do an AB test on the dyno with modded manifolds ready to go. I'm on the fence if it would be worth testing on both altima and maxima manifolds, but it might be worth it to see how they do up to ~7200 because most of your dynos appear to be at stock rev limit. Then toss in tb size and intake size on top of it all..

Yes, the new 2016 VQ35 can be converted, its just a matter of verifying cam timing with the potentially updated cams or using aftermarket 3.0 cams like you did.
