I've searched...what's with the size of the door speakers?

I'm finally getting around to replacing my front door speakers (I had the same prob with the back lid) the holes for the stock screws are just too far out for a normal 6.5". Is there some sort of adapter I have to have? Can it be bought at a local stereo shop?

dunno about a 96gxe...i just checked crutchfield and "according to them, 6-3/4" speakers will fit"
