XM RADIO Versus SIRIUS RADIO
I wanted to add another recevier to my present stereo setup. I wanted to get a receiver thats satellite radio ready, and that plays mp3's and cd's.
Which leads me to a very interesting question. Which service is better? Sirius or XM radio ?
Also whats involved in getting everything you need. I thought that if a radio is lets say XM ready, then thats all you would need. But it appears that you will need to buy: a satellite radio ready receiver, a satellite radio, a satellite radio antenna, and the subscription. How about some post on which service is better? and can somebody clear up what exactly is it that you need to get this service?
thanks !

My only experience is with XM......with that being said, I am using an Alpine XM ready HU. I also have the XM receiver and XM antennae.
XM plays through the HU. 100 channels with limited commercials for $9.99 per month.
XM ready means that it has a built in input for the receiver and you will not need an additional device, for instance the little box that is used with Sirius add on.
I have five bands on my radio: FM1 FM2 XM1 XM2 AM with the ability to have many many presets.
Install was pretty easy with help from SupaLao for wiring up the HU with the stock speakers.
