would I be able to use a 4 channel 800W amp to power both my front components and my rear speakers?

by rear speakers do you mean subs?

no, I mean the speakers in the rear deck

then the amp should be fine. what's the amp rated at? what kind? what kind of speakers? seems overkill for some components unless they're pretty stout rms numbers.

I don't have an amp, but was looking to get one for them. The rear speakers are Boston Acoustics and the components are Infinity, any suggestions on an amp that would be good but for not a lot, I'm pretty sure the max W on the speakers is around 200W per speaker

infinity kappa 605cs' run about 90w rms. boston coax's can't be more than that. you could get away with a 100X4 amp. as far as brands, that's like asking which beer is better. everyone has a different opinion and if you've had good luck with a certain brand, stay with it. i personally like autotek amps for mids and highs and orion amps for subs. kicker, jl audio, audiobahn, etc will work for mids and highs. it's your choice. i wouldn't try to kill those speakers with a monster 4 ch amp.

so it will be relatively cheap? do you have any idea how to hook the speakers up to the amp?

do you have the car prewired for an amp? if not, you will need an amp kit. stock deck or aftermarket h/u? if stock deck, you will need line converters to convert high level inputs to low level. this step isn't necessary but saves time and wire running. i need more info as to your question.

i don't understand by what you mean wiring the speakers

Basically what I want to do is power my speakers with an amp, I already have an amp kit, I was just wondering how I would go about connecting the speakers to the amp and where would I run the wires to power the front components

I always run new wires to each speaker. that way I leave the stock stuff alone. run new wires down the door channels and you should be fine. run all the wires to the trunk and set it up

in case you couldn't see the paper, it says 75W x 4

what price range are you looking for? the one above is only 25w per channel at 4 ohm. better than stock but not the greatest. try a kicker 300.4 or 600.4 or try something from another maker. If you have a favorite, stick with them. stay away from the legacy and such but most 75wX4ch will work. unless your running seperate x-overs, try to get an amp with built in x-overs. if you need anymore help, email me @ hrygeek@cox.net
