i'm thinking of putting in Sirius in my max...

I went to a local Best Buy yesterday to check out the XM tuner for my Pioneer radio. . . I talked to a guy that worked there and he said that Sirius is much better. . . he said that he had both and would highly recommend Sirius. . .

What do you guys think???

BTW: this is the tuner. . . I would fit it under my radio in the little dash. . .

does anyone have experience with this tuner???
it would fit nicely and it matches my pioneer. . .

not anything to say about the tuner but the service is awesome IMHO for satellite radio...I have it in two vehicles and love it...thier cust svc is good too...you may consider as well contacting the member Sirius1, his name is Matt Keown IIRC, for specials on service...he hooked me and a bunch of others up with group deals and such

I listened to both Sirius & XM online for a few weeks before I decided on Sirius. Even though I get a couple of dropouts here & there... it's still 1000times better than listening to a dumb-a$$ commercial on FM! It depends on your taste... try 'em both:

I heard that XM may also become commercial-free... but I'm not sure.

Either way, you'll kiss traditional FM radio goodbye!...

I have Sirius in my car and it's great. We have XM at the gym I work at here at school and I listened to both online a bunch like 02MaXiMa_GLE suggested and found that I liked Sirius much better. Check them both out and then make your choice. And I'm almost positive there a few members on here with that tuner so hopefully they'll see this post and give you some feedback on it.

I haven't listened to fm radio since I got sirius.. go for it. If you have the money though, get a new deck that is sirius ready, unless that little tuner has rca outs that you can plug into your deck. Mine is fm-modulated and I'll be getting a new deck asap because of that.. still worth it though, even fm-mod

How much do each cost a month?

I had Sirius first in my car but had some serious issues with signal strength. There was some sort of hardware problem that Panasonic was not helpful fixing so I bought XM and havn't looked back. XM is 9.99/mo and Sirius is 12.99/mo. XM is going commercial free on Feb. 1 and is adding 5 new channels. They will also be adding live traffic/weather in 20 major metro areas later this year.

oh, man. . . now you guys got me thinking...
xm or sirius

i do have an xm ready HU so all I would need is add a tuner and an antenna . . .
decisions, decisions...

Now this has got me thinking about Sirius as well. Crutchfiled has this Clarion controller, the DSC920S. It allows you to connect directly up to your head unit's RCA aux inputs. Since my Sony has these, I thought the signal would be much better than going through an FM modulator. Problem is, you also have to get the Clarion DSH920S tuner along with it...which I can't seem to find anywhere. Anyone?

check out the stations and see how you like it.
i pay for xm, and i never listen anymore..

I have xm and love it. My buddy has Sirius in his car and I think his music channel selection is somewhat better. Kenwood was giving out free tuner if you purchased a sirius ready head unit.

I've been checking out both & really don't see much of a difference. However, I like the hardware for XM a lot better. I really like this one:

That Kenwood piece is ugly and big. Go with the tuner for xm, and run it through the radio.

I just purchased the XM commander (see my previous post) from Circuit City for $135. Everywhere else I checked was $160. Even though their website said not available for in-store pickup, that's where I bought it.

I'll let everyone know how it turns out.

Tony
