Is a 185 db rating very very high?

185 db would pretty much blow up your head. Like someone said, I think the current record is around 176-178 somewhere in there. 180 or 190 is a sonic boom, so yes, I suppose 185 is pretty loud.
Did a search and came up with http://www.lhh.org/noise/decibel.htm --It says 180 db is a rocket launch. To get a db increase of 3 it's generally accepted that you have to double your power output so to get louder and louder it gets exponentially harder.

Well that's the type of thing that happens when newly registered members are required to make meaningless posts before starting a meaningful thread. Make fun of the person who decided that should be the rule. Why make fun of the noob who has to go randomly searching for things to comment on?
