will 6x9's fit in the back

I currently have eclipse poit source speakers in the rear deck. I'm considering on getting Alpine SPR-694A (6x9's) to go there so I can have some bass without getting subs. How will they fit?

anyone know?

from what i know they arent going to fit unless tou drill new holes. the speakers in my maxima are 6.5"

Its not the holes for the screws I'm worried abou, but eill the speakers fit in the rear deck?

hmmm, i think they will. your best best is to measure the space

1st: ewww 6X9's.... :(
2nd: You aren't getting any bass from a 6X9. Spend $200 and buy a used sub / amp combo.
3rd: ewww 6X9's :(

in fact disconnect your rear speakers unless you need the fill and worry about front soundstage and then bass

for $125 plus shipping i can get you 2 10's in a box with a nice small amp. its my old system sitting here. it does not weigh too much and hardly takes up any space.

I already ahve subs but I took them out so I can save space and wright. But I was told the alpine type r's put out a decent amout of bass so I'm ocnsidering on putting them back there and amping them. otherwise I'll just leavin in my eclispe with absolutly no bass.

what do u have no out of your car? subwise?

sk24iam Apr 2, 2004 05:21 PM

Two eD O's.

slickrick Apr 2, 2004 05:45 PM

well the type r's will not save you much weight. they are about 20 per 12" sub. maybe a touch less.

They'll fit but you have to do a little griding. i have those alpine in the back of my car. The Type R are much better than the "S" you do get some bass from it too. i have them powered by a 4 channel apline and sound great!

Good luck

I've got 6x9's under my factory grilles in my 97 GXE. You'll have to open up the hole a little in the metal part of the rear deck, and cut a little of the cardboard part of the deck under the grille. Looks factory, sounds a little better.
