Wpuld it be worth it to put in an amp to power my 6.5's?

I have a pioneer headunit and it puts out 200 watts. Well my brother gave me an amp that he did not care about cause he upgraded and it is a 200 watt punch amp that he gave me. would there be any reason for me to use this over my headunit? or would i just be wasting my time?

It will be better than the HU amp. Which model is the amp?

I would say run the amp, but rember there is alot 2 do, unless you have it installed. Power, ground, remote, rcas, tap into the speaker wires. Is it a 4 channel amp?

your headunit is probably a 50x4 = 200watts max with mosfet. most likely you are getting 13.5watts or 22watts rms. so i'd suggest you to amp them.

You can get a two channel and get some of these bad boys http://www.thezeb.com/p-Audiobahn-AC...ers-100304.htm

Then wire a 0ga power and a 4ga ground and run a power/ground block so it can feed off of that.

The power and ground cables should be the same size.
