i'm i using this switch right?
 

This is the only place this seems to fit so here goes.

I'm installing some neons for my friend in his wrx. He bought an illuminated switch for them. the poles are as followd, battery-acc-gnd. I've always used simple toggle switches. I was thinking that the power would run through the battery and acc poles and then just run the ground. i can't really think of any other way that would work.

no acc needs to be hooked up to something that will only go on when the car is on but you could do it the other way too i would put a inline fuse for safety.

cig lighter?

isnt the acc suppose to be the neon itself? does it have a relay?

i'm hooking it up to his cig lighter since and it only turns on with the car.

sometimes the switches have a fuse inside and it blows easily this will give you problems try buying another toggle switch their only 3-5$ bucks at pep boys/auto zone thiers no way to replace the fuse because its such a cheap piece good luck

Here, even I felt a little dumber after reading all that, sorry guys no offense. But things seem to keep jumping from one thing to another and I got kind of lost.

Batt- this is direct power from the battery
Acc- this is what you're trying to turn on
Gnd- Ground of course. (usually for the illuminated light on the switch)

Oh, and as for the lights, if they're for ground effect, and the system doesn't have a relay, don't use the cig lighter for power. Doing that will pull too much power through that system.

It's ok if the lights have a relay system, then the power from the cig lighter is only used to engergize the coil in the relay.
