Difference in 4th Gen Sterio's

Does anybody know if there is any technical difference between the 1995-1997 factory stereo system and 1998-1999 factory stereo system?

See what I got from a company rep...

Sorry, we only support 1998-2003 models of the maxima.

The wiring harness is the same, but Im not sure if they changed the style of the radio to support a changer or anything, in which case this might make a difference. But its the same wiring harness, so if so, pick up a 4.5 gen radio on ebay or something

If your 97 headunit has a CD Changer button, it should be compatible with the Soundgate adapters. (ALNS1 and AUX-NISS) Nissan shipped the same style HUs in the 97 and 98 modelyears. I don't know why Soundgate cuts off their compatibility charts with the 1998 model year.
