im interested in gettin a couple of 12w3's and i wanted to get some opinions on which rockford power amp to get. one channel class bd? two channel?
im not too clear on how to hook up dvc speakers...if i get a couple of 12w3's, is it possible to hook them up to run parallel at 2ohms on the rf bd500.1(which says it puts out 600w x 1 at 2 ohms)? or would it be better to run them at 4ohms on maybe a rf 500.2?

Go with a JL Audio 500/1. It will smoke any Rockford amp.
How many 12W3's are you going with?

I don't have experience with jl audio amps, but i do with rockford.
I only want to run a couple of 12w3's so it will leave at least some trunk space.

The bd500.1 will be fine. Get a pair of 12W3-D2s, series the voice coils on each sub, then parallel each sub and you'll have the optimum load.

another guy on the 5th gen forum has 12w3's hooked up to a rockford 800a2 amp(i assume each sub is running off 4ohms from each channel)...which setup would be better? how much difference between the 2 and 4ohm setup? thanks again

The number of ohms that two different systems run at doesn't matter. What matters is that the subs aren't running the amp below what it can handle. If an amp is designed to run at 4 ohms, then a 4-ohm load is best. If an amp is optimized for 2 ohms, then a 2-ohm load is best.

Part of my planned setup is a Rockford Fosgate Power 250.2 as my sub amp. When I listened to it, I was shocked at the clarity.
