My dad has an '02 nonbose and it sounds terrible and I am not that big of a sound quality person. I think your best bet would be to replace it with aftermarket, but if you didn't want to go that route, I am sure there are lots of people with their OEM unit that they are looking to sell. From what I hear the '02 Bose isn't so hot either. Good luck. I'm kinda in the same situation with a non fuctional head unit.

Try some lube, get her to relax and take it slow..... but for real, I assume you're out of warranty? If not make the dealer fix it. If you're out.. You could try taking it apart if you're so inclined. But seriously i would go ahead and invest in a new headunit. They're pretty cheap and you have a lot more upgrade options for the future.

yeah i took it apart something wrong with the gear, it is like messed up i mean with it one and using my hands to help it i can get it in....i'm just screwed. The thing is i don't wanna invest in a new hu yet...i mean don't wanna invest in hu at all...i'm gonna put a carputer so....i'm not gonna need a hu, but it won't be till summer before i do that and i don't wanna put money down on a new hu. wanna just pay like 50 bucks for one looking at one on ebay now.

did you check the for sale forum here? I'd check that and also put in a "want to buy". I know someone has to be selling a stock unit.

i'm sure theres plenty of people on this forum who have a stock HU collecting dust.
