What's going on in St. Louis
I read about this earlier today. It is regarding limiting the gear that you can put in your car in St. Louis.
http://www.stltoday.com/stltoday/new...D+%22stereo%22 I guess this is the guy behind it. http://stlcin.missouri.org/index/contactald.cfm?Ward=20 :ugh:   |
Little more info about contacting him:
St. Louis Alderman (assemblyman) Craig Schmid City Hall, Room 230 1200 Market Street St. Louis, MO 63103 (314) 622-3287 (314) 622-4273 Fax I already sent him a little email. |
damn, that's a little overkill...impounding your car for loud music? hell anyone could say "i heard a little thumping from the car next to me"...
yeah i know it's frustrating when you hear street beaters around 2 AM, but that bill is a little :jeffy: |
thats just retarded. That leaves so many loop holes that police can use.
|
I'm not one to blast loud music in neighborhoods/stoplights, but...
talk about the punishment not fitting the crime. And who are they to say what (how big) and howmany speakers a car has. And this fron the city that hosts IASCA finals? Crazy....just crazy.... |
and the whole thing about no amplifier power totaling more than 300 watts...some of these new cars come stock with more power than that. :jeffy:
|
Yeah this has me infuriated. Governments are getting outta control.
|
wonder how the local audio community will take the news. :chuckle:
|
any harley is 10x louder than any system...knock off the biker dudes before audio guru's.
|
OK...so after readin that CRAAAAAPY article i have concluded that everyone in St Louis should be ready to buy some sound deadener..cops cant hear anything if your windows are rolled up and you have some spectrum, damplifier, and other stuff all over the interior or your car. Personally i think we would riot if that became the law here in cali.

I guess we'll be seeing 9000 watt monoblock amps that will be "rated" as 150 Rms.... welcome back cheater amps! :) |
I say we all grab our pitchforks and descend on St. Louis. Time for a REVOLUTION.
|
anything stock is ok...hence stock tint is ok in the state the car is bought in. but yes, in essence some stock systems are better than 2 da max's aftermarket systems. we need some spl competitors to go knockin at this guys house!

That moron makes Hitler and Mussolini look like Bill Clinton. Maybe if someone gives him a "Boom-Car' flyby with a wall of 18's and a couple of killowatts of power it might dislodge the stick firmly implanted up his arse. The ACLU is gonna love this one...

And, um... Is that 300 watt RMS into 8 Ohms?! :) Is that 10 inches diameter of the speaker voice coil? :) No more than 10 speakers total? I hope that doesn't count the wireless headphones! Police usually have 100 watt speakers on their siren alone. I hope that goes into account when theystart to factor in the laws. |
2 years ago, i was in my boys legend, he got a ticket for his STOCK bose system being too loud. It was for noise pollution
btw its ********s like me that bass in front of churches, hospitals and precingts on a sunday morning..so haha :hide: |
Here is the email the guy wrote me back, or should I sent out to many many people. By this time some of you have probably already seen it, if not ...
Juan: I understand your concern. In practice the legislation will only target those who are blasting the neighborhood. Rather than just seizing cars for the loud booming music like they do in Chicago, however, we wanted to give some more objective criteria for holding the car for evidence purposes when there are sound devices in the vehicle that demonstrate that it is most likely the case that some pretty intense booming music was heard by the police officer. The legislation is broadly stated, because, frankly, residents are fed up with the shaking and deafening music that some of these vehicles are spewing on the street. I am not trying to harm or disparage car audio enthusiasts. I can assure you that the intent is not to affect folks who will be getting a permit and entering audio competitions outside of our residential areas. I do intend to be trying to work with local audiophiles as we do an educational effort to reduce the loud booming music in our neighborhoods. And, we will be working with them as we monitor the application of the law. I can understand your concern. If this legislation is applied too broadly, I can assure you that I will be leading the charge to change it. Thanks. Craig |
print that out, and use it if a cop pulls u over
|
Its a BS law, that shouldnt even be a thought in someone tiny little mind.
