stock bose system problem playing cd's
I have the stock bose system in an 02 Max GLE.
when I play cd's it doesnt come out of all 4 speakers. once in a while it does, but not usually. can anyone point me in the direction of the fix for this problem, if there is one. Thanks |
it's a defect in the Head unit, replace it i guess, i have the same problem, but plan on gettting an aftermarket DVD player/screen anyways, so thats all i know, as far as i know there is no way to fix it besides gettting the HU replaced.

I had the same problem, usually the passenger side front speaker would cut out. My usual fix was to hit the unit wiht my fist on the right had side right next to the LCD screen for the climate control. After I whacked it a couple times, all the speakers would come back on, at least for a while.... finally got rid of the problem by getting a new system (much better than the ghetto "whack the Bose" fix)

Just a quick note on 6 Disc CD Changer on the 5th Gen Max...bad audio connection is a common problem. My unit will only play out of the passenger side speakers, nothing out of the left side. Fortunately for me, mine is still under warranty for another 2k miles or 3/23/06, so I am having mine fixed at the local stealership.
For those of you that want to fix your stock unit, there are repair instructions listed on the org in the audio sticky at the top of the forum. I downloaded a nice write-up on how to do the repair yourself, but it requires removing the unit and disassembling it down to a simple ribbon cable that apparently, over time, makes a bad connection and leaves you without audio. If mine breaks again, I may make a choice to go to another HU, but I would also make the attempt to fix it on my own before I replace it.:happyface |
