Problem

I swapped a bad head unit for a new one today and it was working great then I went to put my dash back together and the sound stopped working. I pulled the dash apart and then noticed that it was only my sirius radio that was not working. Then I noticed when I moved the radio around the volume would come out of one speaker and then the other and then no volume. Then I put it back in and the radio just started turning on an off for no reason. I assume this is a ground issue however I didn't touch anything. I just swapped a new head unit wire for wire. Anyone have any ideas about what might be the problem?

The whole hu going off and on could be a ground issue but it sound's like you didn't properly connect the harness's together. If my guess is correct i'd suggest buying a soldering iron to make a solid connection. Otherwise it could be a wire getting crimped when you push the dash piece. Check the wire's for any damage if you did use a solid connection.

Is this an aftermarket HU? Bose? Need to be a little more specific...
