Eclipse cd5423 security question

hey guys, my buddy just bought an eclispe deck off ebay, the cd5423:

http://www.caraudiomag.com/testreports/0310cae_eclipse/

now, in this article, it mentions this:

For security, the unit uses ESN (Eclipse Security Network). This is a system that uses a Key CD, which is needed to reactivate the unit in case of power loss or removal from vehicle. If the Key CD is not inserted, the deck will not operate. After 10 failed attempts, the deck has to be returned to the factory to be reset. It is a clever and effective theft deterrent, and you don't have to carry your faceplate around when you leave the vehicle. Another nice security feature is the ability to display the serial number of the unit by pressing a combination of buttons.
should the seller of the unit be including a code? when emailed, the guy just said "it's unlocked".. but it seems like it needs to be unlocked every time you remove it from the vehincle.. am i wrong?

thanks for the input.

It only needs to be unlocked everytime IF the ESN is activated. If its not, then itll turn right on.

Just FYI..if your friend decides to use the ESN he MUST have that key CD if he disconnects power. I also recommend using a store bought one. If he ever loses it hell be SOL. It can be reset via a dealer, but Eclipse will need to see proof that it was dealer bought.

OK they're in guys.. Monitor One amp, 125 watts to each side in front.

wow. damn.. all of the above

i'm very impressed, by far the best i've heard (i know they don't touch germainiums, but ive only heard mbq comps and such)

i didn't know so much bass with 0 distortion could come from 6.5s.. wow

the highs sound nice and clear, but not as much as expected, but im 100% sure this is due to my JVC HU, the thing SUCKS when it comes to treble, completely, however it will soon be replaced by a pioneer or Eclipse so im not worried at all

overall a MAJOR upgrade from what i had before, im very satisfied. Don, + feedback will be left when this is posted.

I figured youd be a bit happy.

Wait a bit for those mids to loosen up and the tweets to soften up a bit for them to really shine.

They're tilted towards my face as much as possible. the manual was kinda unclear.. am i suppose to use both cups that it came with? or just one? or is it my choice? Don?

I have a different set, but the tweeter location is the same as yours. Mine came with the cup mount.
