For now.

2 12" Arc Audio Kars
Rainbow SLC265 Comps.

Still unsure of how the Arc's are gonna hit especially with 250watts rms each (i know i know watts arent everything), but coming from 1000watt SPL monster Kicker 15" L7, i hope i dont lose too much low end. cant wait to install.

djfrestyl Apr 30, 2006 10:15 PM

Sweet, Ray. It's gonna sound great.

I've used both products with very high satisfaction.

In fact, I've still got my rainbows.

...for now

slickrick Apr 30, 2006 10:16 PM

what size/type of box for the kicker, and for the 12's?

rkyat Apr 30, 2006 10:27 PM

http://cgi.ebay.com/Kicker-15-Soloba...QQcmdZViewItem

^had that ebay box with the kicker with a Rockford 1000bd amp. As far as the Arcs go, most likely ill go with sealed, from what everyone is telling me, it'll hit tighter.

slickrick Apr 30, 2006 10:34 PM

hm...I assume it had a "high" tune because its an ebay box so if you build a large enough sealed box the low end should own the 15 with ease.

rkyat Apr 30, 2006 10:42 PM

and if it doesnt can i blame you. :)

slickrick Apr 30, 2006 10:48 PM

nah...then stuff the box with polyfill. ;)

rkyat Apr 30, 2006 10:50 PM

I was also lookin at the Planet Audio P-850D amp, think that'll be decent for the subs?

slickrick Apr 30, 2006 10:57 PM

whats the budget?

rkyat Apr 30, 2006 11:02 PM

well not tryna break the bank at the moment, it just sucks not having any music in the car right now, all i have to listen to is the exhaust, couple of people recommended the Planet Audios cause there good amps with sometimes underrated power? ah well, i woulda probably gotten it for about $225 i think?

slickrick Apr 30, 2006 11:06 PM

eh, I'd look elsewhere. I have rear fill in my car and thats it...I know the feeling. check with Don or check crutchfield or sounddomain for some good deals. yes, once in awhile a good deal can be found on crutch. :)

rkyat Apr 30, 2006 11:09 PM

lol rear fill better than nothing, when i unhooked my solo, i dunno wtf i did, but now im gettin that high pitch whining noise in my interior speakers that gets higher toned the higher your rpm goes, and i cant take it so i just drive with the radio off.

slickrick Apr 30, 2006 11:13 PM

sounds like alternator whine...

rkyat Apr 30, 2006 11:17 PM

yea, ill probably deal with that when i put in everything. also i came across an Elemental Designs NINe.2X amp for $250, that sound decent?

AscendantMax Apr 30, 2006 11:36 PM

nice sub ;)

how much power are you going to feed your SLCs?

rkyat Apr 30, 2006 11:37 PM

unfortunately at this moment i only have a lowly Clarion APA450 Amp gonna be pushing them.... for now... :)
50 x 4 :(

AscendantMax Apr 30, 2006 11:38 PM

ah, not too bad :)

i'm sure they'll still perform nicely with 50 going to them. i'm quite eager to put my SLC's in as well. :)

Bridge the amp to the comps. You'll be fine. Don't get the ED nine.x amp.

mendon99 May 1, 2006 06:58 AM

SLCs ftmfw. sound better and better every day!

yea honestly i still love the 15" L7, but sometimes it just seems that it keeps tripping over itself in fast paced music, plus it engulfed my entire trunk.

djfrestyl May 1, 2006 12:33 PM

Run the rears off your HU

rkyat May 1, 2006 01:08 PM

rkyat May 1, 2006 05:27 PM

Theres also that Alpine amp being sold, 500watts @4ohms and 1000@2. That should be good to push it also yes?

Off-topic:

The same day i got this stuff, we took my old system out and put it in my friends car. Lets just say, a pliers, cutting tool, AND a hammer was needed to get it in.

Heres the video

and heres the pic of the outcome.
