Spent $100 repairing my Bose unit now it's not playing again

Hi everyone. I spent $100 about a year ago to repair my Bose unit on my car because it wasn't playing CDs. It worked fine for a year then back to not recognizing CDs unless the head unit is warm (weird, I know) then it got worst to playing CDs maybe once a week, then got worst to not ejecting CDs...I can get it to eject the CD after trying for a couple days, but I end up putting it back in hoping it might play for one last time lol...anyway my question...Anyone local to me willing to fix this thing correctly once and for all? The instructions I found on the net aren't all that complete for me to attempt it myself, unless someone has a web site with clear instructions...Thanks guys.

you won't get much help here but "shoulda put the $100 towards aftermarket..."

^ This man speaks the truth. Not only because the those are all the replies youll get, but because the stock units suck and arent worth dumping money into, seeing as how theyll only break again later.

Ok well I agree BUT let me explain...I've heard a lot of cars with all kinds of systems in them...I've got all stock speakers but I've added a triangle bazooka sub plus a california profile amp in the trunk...This combo gives me -unbelivable- quality and it hits pretty hard (lows better than highs)...anyhow I'm waaaaaaay too happy with the quality of the system to change everything and go aftermarket...that's why I'm leaning away from an aftermarket head unit because I've read mixed reviews of using the converters...anyone local willing to fix this damn thing, or have someone by me that will do it? OR anyone have a guide that'll show me how to fix this damn thing myself?

You dont need to change "everything" just the HU. And the rest of the car will sound better anyway.

Alright what headunit will give me the same or better quality as stock? I turn up the stock all the way with no distortion, and it's pretty loud at max volume...I know most head units will distort at full volume.

Although I have to disagree with the stock not reaching distortion, it is a matched system. Not allowing it to go past a certain point. Not to mention "all the way up" should never be used and is variable from deck to deck.

With that being said any reputable manufacturers HU would suit you just fine.
