Need Help Picking HID Color
I was hoping someone with some first hand HID expirance could help me. I am trying to pick the color that will best match the color of my car. I want to know what color would look best with it. Im not sure wheter to get the 8000k or 10000k HIDS. Also am I gonna get pulled over with 10000K all the time? And then Should I get the Fog lights the same?

To match the color of your car you'd probably want a 12k or so. The problem is most manufacturers don't follow the same guideliness so his 12k may be bluer than hers etc. etc.
6000k or less for both.
6000's won't match the color of his car. Did you read his post?

anything above 6000 is useless and will just be a distraction on the road. I f thats all you care about then just get those cheap ebay bulbs they'll match perfect why spend the money on hids when you could only spend 20 bucks!
those cheap ebay bulbs are NO WHERE NEAR comparable to that of 12000k HID's, in terms of brightness and light output
12000k hids have a horrible light output. regular halogens put out more lumen's.

If you're just matching the fogs to the car color, 12k will do the trick. The headlights though should be no more than 5000k. My 6000k's aren't as bright as my oem were.
DOing it right would equal getting projectors so you don't potentially kill someone in the oncoming traffic. Lke many of suggested, although 12k might seem brighter to the eye, the output would like when driving. For what you want, you might as well go with the $20 bulbs. If you really wanna do it right get projectors and the 12k, you'll be as close as you can to the color of your car but it'll be all show and no use.
thats why 12k is not an option i was hoping to get answers out of what i had mentioned. I had projectors on my last car with 6000
10000k would be the closest, but that won't even be all that purple, dependant again on the manufacturer.

wait wait.. you want to match the car with the bulbs but at night when its time to turn on your headlights, people cant see the color of the car.
if you turn on 12k lights in daytime no matter what it will look like a light blue shade because of surrounding light. i don't think there is a combo or situation for you to get what you want. |
Ive Been Working With 20k And They Look Like What Windex Would Look Like If You Shined Some Light Through The Bottle... Pretty Close But 5 Out Of The Last 5 Ppl Ive Done Have Each Received Tickets For Them
Im Happy With My 8k... Bright As Hell And I Havent Been Stooped (knock On Wood) |
