It's annoying
 

Alright, many of you could be facing this problem also and I have no idea if this is normal at all or something that happens very frequently. Whenever I'm listening to music and the bass hits, my front right speaker on the door makes this noise that I cant even describe. It's just very annoying and I want to know a way to stop it.

Anyone faced this problem and have fixed it before ?

p.s - i drive a 97 max and speakers are not bose. if this helps in any way

Blow speaker. Have yu inspected inside the door yet? How high is the bass level set on your HU? OEM HU?

I have an aftermarket Alpine headunit. The bass level is set on 2. which i dont think is high at all because it goes all the way up to level 10? And no I haven't inspected inside the door yet

Is the "LOUD" feature on?

I dont know if I even have the loud feature on my HU but for now, I'm only playing music on my rear speakers. It still makes noise when the bass hits sometimes. I dont know what I can do to fix it

Possibly, one of the leads (+/-) is touching the door frame and shorting out.

...or as all have said, blown/torn cone.

+1 to the blown/torn cone... It's time to take the panel off and see what's up.

Taking the door panel off is not difficult. Check the stickies for a how-to.

You sound like a guy that enjoys his bass.

Get subwoofers. Your speakers are most likely not designed to play too much bass (especially if they're OEM). If you love your bass like I do, then get subs, and an aftermarket HU with built in crossovers so you can run a highpass filter for your speakers to prevent your speakers from playing bass (low freq) and a lowpass filter for your Subs. =)

Cranking your bass up in factory sound systems are usually not such a good idea.
