Not at all, I spend money on wiser things.

If you need a radar detector your car is not worth speeding in.

The Valentine One is still #1 according to the latest independent unbiased radar detector test.

While that may be, unfortunately all the unbiased, scientifically valid evaluations on earth will not stop, or for that matter even slow down, the endless “I saw it on the internet, so it must be true...” or "Well, my buddy told me..." thinking that leads people to believe that some other units are better, and laser & radar jammers actually work; or that coatings/coverings delay/deflect/dampen or otherwise eliminate radar or laser detection………………….

Discussing radar/laser detection is actually worse than arguing politics or religion………… Simple solution: Buy whatever-the-Hell you want, and live with the consequences……………….

I have a Valentine and am very satisfied. Have owned Escort, Passport and BEL. They are all good units but the Valentine works better for me.

Your mileage may vary.

Bumping an old thread to post information not needed is like sleepin with a fat chick...it's great fun until someone finds out.

Here is some more information:

There are big problems with the new Escort 9500i and the majority of people are returning them because of less range than the Valentine One and the 8500X50.

http://www.radardetector.net/viewtopic.php?t=22803

They are locking out signals from door openers and the 9500i is not alerting to cops that shoot radar in that area. Owners of the 9500i are also complaining that signals that they lock out are not staying locked out from the day before. They also say that their Sirius/XM radio is cutting out because of the 9500i and its GPS function.
