Well, I guess I am going to head to bed then. 33 deg needs to be banished by 3 blankets and a warm bed.

3 blankets for 33 degree weather? I use one, doesn't matter how cold it gets.

I got to 26 here. I still don't see the wonderous joy you northern egrets experience when it gets cold, and then say someone is weak if they don't like it. Good for you. You are much more of a man than I ever could be because you can take more painful cold than me. I have never been able to make sense of it. My relatives that live in Michigan do the same thing.

Maybe I need to object myself to some ball shrinking mind numbing cold to be considered a capable person. :dunno:

You guys can take this as me joking around, but the majority of the people that I associate with irritate the living crap out of me by suggesting their inharent superiority because of their tolerance to cold. They can eat my dingleberries.

lol

northerners:hot weather as southerners:cold weather. or vice versa. or something.. you get what I mean.

I cant stand it when its 90 degrees or above. But I'm also not complaining about the heat like its ridiculous when its hot (for my standards) up here in RI during mid summer, because I know its nothing compared to what you southerners deal with most of the year. Know what I mean? I'm by no means claiming I'm "more of man" than you, but I really don't consider it cold until it hits 15 or below, period. It was just a joke..

I know it was. The majority of my post was in jest as well. Thus I went back and highlighted my instructions.

The tone of the post was a little harsh when I reread it, but I thought it may have come off that way so I ended with, " You guys can take this as me joking around" so you wouldn't think I was being an asshat toward you guys.

Nice. Tint is a necessity down here. The cars interior would be destroyed.

I live in FL and I have an electric blanket on my bed. I win.

Say what you want, but use one and you'll be hooked (Mainly saying this aimed at the people here in fl, or gordon, or anyone else in the south)

Indeed it is. You should have seen E55AMG2's last cat. It dwarfed his size 14 shoe. Now that was a fat cat.

Well, I am taking the plung. Going to buy a table saw and router today. It looks like Lowe's is the PC dealer around here, so I will stop by there and pick one up as well as a belt sander for the inevitable mis cuts.

I am pretty excited. I have always wanted these items and finally got the go ahead from wifey. I will post pics when I get them home and put together.

OK, I ordered the table saw and belt sander yesterday. Going to pick up the PC Router online today. $279 and free shipping from PC. Lowe's, Sears, nor HD had any there. I am going to research some circle jigs today and pick one of those up too. Here is what I am looking at.

http://www.rockler.com/product.cfm?p...3&cookietest=1

There are seemingly 8000 different circle jigs though. SO I want to do some research and get some opinions before I do.

Any of you guys have a preference?

Thanks Don. I found the 200 on Amazon with free shipping for $36

http://www.amazon.com/Jasper-200J-Ci.../dp/B00009K77A

I don't mind spending the $50 for the combo pack, but what are the advantages of the smaller circle looking jig?

"The Model 200 will cut circles and mortises in 1/16" increments from 2-1/4" to 18-3/16" in diameter. Model 400 is perfect for tweeters and small midranges, cutting holes from 1" to 7-1/2"."

cliffs: the smaller one cuts smaller holes. who woulda thunk it?

Yup, that was a silly question. I was reading up and it seems thta I should go ahead and have the capability to do the smaller rings as well.

What kind of bit will I need for cutting the rings and/or circles? Isaw literally 100's in the store and didn't even bother looking. Mainly b/c wifey was not having a good time and gets bored easily.

Is there a particular brand I should look for/ or avoid when buying bits?

I found routerbits.com via diy and google. They seem to have just about every bit I could imagine. Now to figure out which to get.

I would like a roundover bit and whatever I need to make the circle cuts easily.

I have the smaller one, but generally use hole sws. Then again I have well over a hundred dollars worth of hole saws as well. The cheaper/easier solution is the smaller jig.

Excellent bits ..

www.whitesiderouterbits.com

Otherwise I try to stick with Bosch or Freud. B&Ds suck.

For the router/jig. You need a 1/4" otherwise calculations will be off. I use a Bosch upspiral straight bit.

Word and thanks for the site. Digging through there now.

I don't have any experience, obviously, but knowing what I am going to be doing, which router would you suggest I get?

http://www.cpoworkshop.com/routers/c...cks/894pk.html

http://www.cpoworkshop.com/routers/c...cks/895pk.html

I would like to purchace a table at a later date to try my luck at custom edges and shelving. So would buying the 895 be better due to the table adjustment?

Also, single or double flute for the router bits? I am trying to find a bit named "upspriral straight bit" too but can't find it exactly. I hate being ignorant. Atleast I am trying to fix that.

Also, what depth. I will most likely be cutting 1" for another project I want to do. So should that correspond to the cutting length?

Spiral bits > upcut > 1" or larger. Its a spiral, so fluting wouldnt apply.

On the link under the heading Solid Carbile Spirals: I clicked on UpCut and it opened a window with specifics. The heading on that window says Standard Spiral Cut Bits Up Cut or Down Cut Solid Carbide 2 flute. Am I in the wrong section?

If it is, I found the part # RU2100 under the 1/4" shank and 1" cutting length. Is that the piece I need?
