sure what you mean by "rear deck" ... rear door? or behind the seats?

then if you're referring to just bolting boxes behind the seats A: that's *** ugly and B: you can buy prefab boxes that will work just fine for them.

Since you're mounting them in the back i'm assuming they're more for rear passangers not the front passangers so cutting and dropping them in would be my preference.

okay, lemme try to explain...

the rear speakers. on top of the deck behind the seats. where the 3rd brake light is. 6.5's are a little smaller than the "oversize 6.5's" that Nissan uses. so i need to make something to screw my new speakers into, and then that will be screwed to the deck. is that a little clearer?

Hey, I'm having the exact same problem. I'm also looking for some ideas for mounting my 6.5" in my front doors and the rear deck. Stupid Nissan had to make oversized 6.5's. I think I going to get thin pieces of wood for the rear deck but I don't know what to do for the front doors. Let me know if you find anything. Thanks.

okay, I've had this problem too and whitemax helped me out. Just use 1/4'' luan wood and cut out "rings" that fit onto the rear deck. I forgot the exact specification but be sure to measure the mounting width of the speaker basket, and make that the size of the inside ring shape. The whole piece should be able to lay on the rear deck flat, and you should be able to have some room to drill a few holes through the wood and into the sheet metal deck.

That's the simple way to do it.

For the fronts, you have to pre-fab some custom baffles. Use wood, or fiberglass, to match the height of the factory baffles (the black plastic ones).

The sizing is a variable, so experiment. It'll be good for you :)
