Let's talk about alternators..........
Ours is running what? 115 - 120 ml amps (guesstimate)? I have a feeling that mine will go out pretty soon, and my system is currently stock right now. With the addition of a revamped system in the near future, I'm considering an upgrade.
With that, anyone here upgrade or sticking with a stock replacement? Again, I wouldn't change it at all if I didn't have the feeling that mine was going out the door. Since I'd be in there already, what would you go with in terms of options? |
i would'nt change it until you test it, you could just have a loose wire. you could buy a higher voltage alternator and re-ground it. i was thinkin about doin that myself, but have too many other little projects going on right now.

a HO alternator will definately help if you have multiple amps and running lots of power, you'll have no dimming, which is great. but if not, I wouldn't bother... they're considerably more expensive than a stock replacement.

On the 2000, stock alt puts out 110A... I'm running a 358W RMS MTX 421D and have no issues with dimming. |
Thanks for the input guys! :)

That's all I needed to read. I'll replace mine with an OEM, once this one decides to crap out on me. As always, thank you.
