4 10's Sundown Audio
So I decided to pick up another Sa10 so I can wire down to one ohm. Now I just need to figure out how to fit these in the I30. I've always done sub back, port back but can't with the four tens. I'm thinking about doing port and subs up, I've also thought about subs up port through the armrest. I'm capable of designing and building the box, just wanted to know if anyone had any advice about the layout.
Thanks -Rick |
i've tried the sub and port up, but output wasn't what i was looking for when I had the FI Q, so i don't suggest going that route. I would try sub up port through the armrest. Are you using the traditional slot port? I would give those precision ports a try. It saved me a bit of gross box volume for my DLS 12.

Subs up port/s driver or passenger side.

Thanks guys I guess I'm going to try through the armrest. If I don't like it I'll turn the box and fire the port toward the trunk. If I don't like that I'll try something else.

Okay so long story short I have only used slot ports in the past, but for this build I want to use a 10" aero port. I am using this calculator http://www.mobileinformationlabs.com...0lenth%201.htm to figure out port length. Where it asks for box volume do I enter volume after subwoofer displacement 6.72 cubes. Or do I need to figure in port displacement as well?
My box will be 38x12x34 which is 7.2 before sub displacement and 6.72 after. For a tuning of 34hz If I enter 6.72 I get a port length of 19.93. If this is correct I should be at ~6 cubes net after all displacements. If someone could double check what I'm saying I would REALLY appreciate it. Thanks -Rick |
You enter the net box volume after all displacements are taken into consideration.
I used this when I was building my DLS box http://www.psp-inc.com/tools.html |
