How do I achieve my audio goal?
Ok so I recently picked up a 2000 maxima and my goal is to be heard a block away clearly audio wise of course what will I need for this goal? And what type of $$ am i looking to spend roughly?

Rockford fosgate

Put a cannon on it.
What exactly do you want to be heard from a block away? Bass? Vocals? Everything? With sound that reaches that far away, it's likely going to a) cause you to lose hearing b) sound poor inside the car. |
Lol well I guess a block away is kinda crazy I just want a loud clean , clear system not just the bass pounding like crazy and you barely hear vocals I just want a setup that works perfect altogether clarity is my goal
|
Oh look, another fresh owner with what I call "new car ambition"
Anything can be done....with a large enough budget. So let's start there. How much are you looking to spend? |
Between 1200 and 1500 tops
|
Not enough for a decent deck and speakers.
|
I already have a kenwood ddx514 touchscreen so its just speakers and amps
|
Hertz speakers always sound amazing with the right amp and tuning..EXTENSIVE tuning at that, their component systems are some of the best ive ever heard for their price range.

Don't know where you're located, but I would recommend going to some local audio meets, or shops and check out what people are running. Get some demo's and get a better idea of what you need for what you want to achieve.
If you only have a little over $1k you are definitely limited... You could probably get a deck, some mids/highs and a single 12 in a prefab box with a bass amp. Not the best, not the worst equipment, but might satisfy your goals. As far as brands go, there are literally hundreds to choose from. Check out some local reputable shops, and do some online research. |
OP, dont ruin your hearing...........seriously going deaf blows donkey balls. My deafness isnt due to music, but dont do something to jeopardize your hearing.

Check into Hybrid Audio. Over the last few years they have taken the car audio scene by storm and have won many awards.
As far as subwoofers go, I've always been a fan of Cerwin Vega. They have different levels according to your budget, with their Stroker series being the heavy hitter. Boston Acoustic would be my second choice for a subwoofer. Hybrid Audio does have subwoofers, but I haven't heard them so I'm still on the fence with them. |
So you are either
A: Young and striving for attention from others around you. B: Hate your money, but are nice enough to spend it so Other People can hear what you are playing. How do you know they like what you are playing though ? Both are, well, just silly. |
