Driver's door speakers don't work??

Hey guys,
I just picked up a '97 SE and everything on the car works great EXCEPT the *2* speakers in the driver's door?!?! I removed the door panel last night, and the two speakers are "hooked up", but no sound is coming out?

Does anyone have any ideas where to go from here?

Should I remove the head unit to see if everything is hooked up properly at that end? Or could it be something else?

THANKS for ANY help!:)

Re: Driver's door speakers don't work??

You could have one of two things:
a) busted speaker
b) busted wiring

Also, what do you mean by 2 speakers? There should only be one in the door, right?

To check for a busted speaker, just unhook the speaker and hook up the wiring to another speaker. If you get sound, your speaker is busted.

If you don't get sound, check your wiring at:
a) The inline conncetion between main-harness and door harness. Trace the door grommet harness to under the trim piece near your leg area and try to hook up a speaker there ... if there is nothing, you need to trace it back to the headunit.

I would suggest a cheap analog voltmeter (<$10).

Next thing, it could be idiot error .. check your balance and fader settings.

Good luck ... ;)
