Anyone else's Eminem Show Cd's bass hit higher then usual.

Reason why i am asking. I have the Eminem Show cd and i noticed when i just listened to it that i have to turn my bass to more of a -4 or -5 on the HU and my subwoofer to a 11 (1-16 scale). It seems like the bass hits alot harder and louder on this cd then all my other music. Strange?

Let me know

thanks
bryan

anyone else think its a good cd, i sure do. He is a lyrical genious

well, i know the cd standard is to record at -5 dB, but some cd's (like bass mekanik) record at the highest possible NON-clipped signal. maybe dre had the gains set higher than normal. that wouldnt surprise me.

Yep. I just bought this CD last week and my bass is just BARELY turned on...otherwise it's way too overpowering. I like a lot of the songs on there, but I think his last album, the Marshall Mathers LP, was better.

Uhh... ok... if you say so...

CD's are master to 0.0dB not -5dB. Extract a track from a CD sometime and look at where it peaks and you'll see.

I've just got without me burned onto a CD and I have to keep the bass on negative 4 instead of the usual positive 3. I bet Dre did push up the gains

jag5311 Jun 5, 2002 06:34 PM

without me is just fine, in fact, i had that on a remix cd a few weeks ago before i made this one, and i never had a problem with Without Me, but something like Halies's Song just seems really BOOMY to me. Good song though. Eminems not a bad singer:o

I think the bass seems normal. But yes, MAN O MAN, this is the best CD I have ever heard. Only tracks I don't like are Without ME (i know it's the single, but it kinda sucks) Compare the EXACT length and beat of the chorus to "the real slim shady" if you sing it together they match identically...and "My Dads gone crazy" otherwise I couldn't pick a favorite, all the tracks are so good.

I love this CD! I can't wait to put my new stereo in so I can listen to it on that. My Bose is starting to make all of my CDs skip, which stinks. Looks like it's time to put the new headunit in. If this last amp would get delivered then I can put everything in at once.

Every CD is mastered differently in the studio and the final EQ'ing is done by a human being at a control panel with a BIG eq in front of them.

this stuff is seen often on rap CDs and stuff that like tons of bass..

so assume you played pink noise (level is the same at ALL frequencies) through the same EQ they used when recording the Eminem CD.. it'll have a big bump in the bass curve..

now look at pink noise done through an EQ done through a different studio/band/whatever, and you'll see a completely different EQ curve on it.

Actually I think that this CD is right at average with bass. If you think that's loud, try the "Tear Da Club Up Thugs" CD. They have MONSTER bass. The Eminem CD is great. I've been looping it since the begining of May, and I'm still not tired of it.

You mean triple six, world dominaton 2? Or is there actually a different group that call themselves that?

World dom 2 is a classic CD, and it does have quite a bit of bump to it. I've always been a fan of Brotha Lynch's Loaded to really flex an SPL sub...(especially as lynch would say it, tracc 6)

Eminem & Dre...don't get me started

No it's a seperate CD titled Crazyndalazdayz. If you like triple six, listen to this CD. It has alot of good songs.

Matt93SE put it well. they use thier eq to put the best sound reproduction possible on the cd. that is why when doing sq setups you always want to get everything as flat and even as possible for the best "cd" reproduction. if everything is set to complete flat, that is what the mixers, and producers want you to hear.

But I do agree it is a kickass cd, and the bass is up a little more than normal. and my dad's gone crazy is one of my favorite songs. different strokes for different folks.;)

Its nice cd because its not ALL HATE crap (gay, trans, lesbian,ect..). I can't figure out what might make his next video. I can't believe all the hate he still has for his mother. he even says that one quote

"You should see Haley, shes getting so beautiful, but you'll never see her, she won't even be at your funeral"

ouch:eek:

ThumpinMaxima Jun 8, 2002 07:59 AM

Eminem announced his next video is going to be "Say GoodBye To Hollywood" The CD is nice...I dont think it has that much more bass, my friends father owns a club, and he got me their bass cd, now that thing friggin shakes my side mirrors off my car!!!

infinit30t Jun 19, 2002 11:10 PM

teardaclubupthugs is actually dj paul, juicy j, and lord infamous and not the rest of 3-6

max'n out Jun 20, 2002 09:43 AM

Em knows bass is in(sadly) so why not crank it up. Little tuning in the studio makes you feel more important in your car.

Yeap! i just got off the phone with Dr Dre and he told me he was smoking some weed while recording this album and he accidently turn the bass link button to the highest! so its normal for rapers to hit the wrong s h i t while they are HIGH!!!:D

Dr. Dre produces his tracks differently than other producers. He pioneered some sort of technology or format...I remember seeing somethin about it on TV.

hehe...laughing at your own joke? Did Dre run over and pass you the spliff after you got off the phone with him? :D

H.N.I.C.95 Jul 1, 2002 11:44 AM

The CD is tight but the bass levels are not all that actually very few track hit hard Superman, Till i colapse. If you want to listen to a Cd with bump you need to get Three 6 Mafia like ol boy said every single track will f up your mirrors

Playero Jul 1, 2002 07:41 PM

:D You are CORRECT my friend!
