What's the Difference bet. Pioneer and Pioneer Premier?
Forgive me if this question has been answered in the past.
I notice a slight price difference bet. Pioneer vs. Premier. Is the pricing reflecting the warranty difference or are the models themselves made differently? Thanks. AnGe |

Pioneer Premier series equipment comes with a 2-year manufacturer's warranty, which is part of the reason they're a bit more expensive than the normal Pioneer products. If you're looking at purchasing a head unit, one difference that I've found is in the pre-outs for your amplifier(s). For example, I plan on purchasing the Premier P740MP MP3/CD player vs. the P7400MP MP3/CD player. The 740MP has 3 sets of 4V pre-outs, while the 7400MP only has 2 sets of 2.2V pre-outs. Depending on what kind of sound setup you're planning to put together, that's a pretty significant difference... What Pioneer product are you looking into buying? peace2u |

Have you tried shopping on www.carmedia1.com ?? They have pretty good prices. Here's my current setup: Pioneer CD Reciever h/u (DEH-P5200) Pioneer 6-disc changer (trunk) Focal 165K2 Components(front) Focal 165 Components(rear) Rockford Punch 500a4 Infinity Basslink 10" Sub |
No, haven't checked that site out...
You're welcome:D!!!
Those are some pretty awesome decks to choose from - out of my price range, but they're pretty awesome from what I've seen. That 840MP is really nice - I almost talked myself into paying the $520 for that one, but I just couldn't do it! I suppose you're going to eventually ditch the CD changer, unless it reads CD-R/RW discs. If you do keep it, you may want to mount it vertically instead of horizontally (if you haven't done so already) because I heard somewhere that it'll skip less. You should check out Pioneer's website, if you haven't already done so, and see what else they have out there. They have one deck that's for the serious sound competiton-minded types that does all sorts of things. Their website is also helpful if you want to get your hands on the installation & owner's manuals for the head units you're looking to buy before you buy them. BTW - Your car is very nice. I can tell you've put a lot into it, and it definitely shows. Great job! I noticed that you have components in front and in back??? Whoa mamma! With all that quality stuff you've got, you'll have to forgive my asking, but what's up with the Basslink:confused: You must be trying to conserve space... Anyway, great ride & good luck on the Pioneer! peace2u |

Within months, I grew to dislike that setup. I heard the Focals w/ Rockford amp in my friend's CRX and it blew me away ... I knew then I wanted the same setup. Long story short, luckily I inherited his setup for half the retail cost as he wanted to do Focal 165K3 +Utopias w/ Soundstream amp  Hmmm... about the CD Changer.. It reads CD-Rs :gotme: but not MP3s :( It's currently mounted horizontally and so far its done well (rarely skips). Got the Basslink b/c it gives me enough bass +it saves space. and at 20lbs, it's not too shabby. Tks! AnGe |

Hey Ange I would go with Premier because of the 2yr warranty. You can try to go to canal street. They have dirt cheap prices on premier audio as well as any other brand. Some of them are authorized dealers so you will get the warranty. Just go to pioneers website for the dealer locator.
