WTB adaptor to use aftermarket deck with bose amps
I cant remember the part number, but its basically the main adaptor to be able to use the bose amps with an aftermarket stereo...anyone have one laying around?
|
are you talking about the metra 7551 or one of those line converters to send signal? if its the metra then it can be easily made if you get a 7550 or similar scoche adapter and some rca plugs... all in all about 15 bucks or less
|
Use the metra 70-7551. And make sure your using a HU with at least 4v outputs.
|
Ok well maybe i should be more specific...
I have a stock bose setup (bose headunit and bose speakers) I want to install an aftermarket headunit to replace my bose one...I want to hook up the aftermarket headunit and retain my stock bose amps and speakers... This is the headunit i am using: http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=508230 its a Dual XDVD8181 And it only has 2v preouts |
With that you better get something that has a variable input to the bose amp like the pac adapter for bose. But the 70-7551 would work, though it may not get that loud with it and that particular head unit.

You can also get this http://www.walmart.com/catalog/produ...uct_id=1863065 but a bit of wiring knowledge would be necessary, it would be easier to use the one from crutchfield if your a novice, if you've done some car audio before this second one would do the job.
