Smallest Wheel size for 4th gen

Looking for the smallest size for the 4th gen. Less rotational mass ya know... and what kind/where to get the most economic, lightest, most common, etc... When I had a CRX I got some Miata wheels. They were a dime a dozen, and at about 12lbs per wheel with some Yoko A008G's, I did well in DS with a stock Si.

Also wondering about tire size... A crazy guy I knew let me use his R compound Hoosiers, on a 14in wheel. They picked-up and threw around gravel like crazy, but they handled like a dream! I forgot to ask him what the tire size was, but remember they had a bulging side wall... essentially sticking out alot from the wheel. So what I'm asking is, what is the largest size tire I could fit on the smallest size wheel.

Really, all I'm lookin to see is if 14's will fit, or if 15's are the smallest. Thanks.

Depends on what class you're running. I think 14's would be TOO small and wouldn't handle the weight of the Max. You've got nearly 1000lbs static on each front tire w/o even braking or cornering. I know Biomax and BarryC went smaller and both liked 225/50/15. Remember you're going for overall tire grip over acceleration - our car has plenty of torque; maybe too much and you just spin the wheels. I run 215/45/16 right now which has plenty of accel.

yeah... I guess I'm still in CRX no power mode. I also read this Plus sizing thing on the Yokohama site "As the results from the lateral acceleration and handling course indicate, each successive plus size led to a noticeable increase in handling performance." http://www.yokohamatire.com/utplus.asp I'll probably look for some light 16's. Thanks.
About class, I looked at your car. Very nice picks of Solo 2 autox :) Would there be any reason to run GS or GSP? I looked at the other cars in the class. CRX, Sentra SE-R '02+, Audi A4/S4, Mini S '02+! and a list of other tough cars to compete with. Thanks.

GS? Sure you get race rubber:cool: But you lose lowering springs and most performance mods. There is no GSP - we play in DSP instead, where most of the SP classes have very light and powerful cars. Depending on mods I'd look at STX or SM instead.

Wow, I have to go over all the new changes. Haven't raced since '99. Thanks BEJAY

14's will not clear stock calipers when I tried...

I wanted to same thing for burner tires before...
