Rev It Up Racing

Just wondering, is anyone from here going (or went) to this "rev it up" event? It costs 50 bucks, but for this price they let you use their car (Chevy Cobalt ss which, surprisingly, handles pretty well) for auto-x and also let you test drive (read: abuse) Corvette c6.

BTW, I went this Saturday, so if anyone wants to beat me, I got 527 points.

$50 seemed a little high to me this year so I passed. Looks like you placed in the upper 1/4 overall nationwide though. Congrats!

yep, $50 is better spent autocrossing my car than driving a cobalt around.

now, if they let me take a Z06 around the course, that would be another story entirely.....

Thanks! Actually, that's my first successful race ever. So, for me it definitely worth those $50.

True, I would also rather compete in my own car, but here you don't have to worry about such things as tire wear or cones leaving marks on your paint.

Besides, they do let you take a Vette around the course, not Z06 but it's still a Vette... and if you come early there's hardly anyone waiting in the line.

I took it around the course 3 times before I span and hit a bunch of cones. After that they told me it was a "test drive" course and that they will not let me drive Corvettes any more.

i went to the mazda rev it up, in NY two years ago. totally worth the $50. and its sometimes better to beat on someone elses car then ur own . you really get a lot for your money, like 10 runs mazda6, mazda6 5 door, practice courses in the miata turbo, and RX8, then two full runs on a huge corse in the mazda 3....winners from each city got a free trip to leguna seca, and the national winner got a mazda 3.

the chevy one will be ok as well, tho that like to test drive the vette will be hours long!

If you're worried about those things, perhaps you shouldn't be autocrossing

btw, cones don't leave marks if you don't hit them

A/S tires are never good for autocross...too soft, too much tread gap.

Go find yourself some cheap wheels and get some cheap summer tires for occasional autocrossing...
